About Small Fish Business Coaching

Small Fish was established in 2006 by Jon Dale, to provide business coaching and consultancy to small businesses on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The strength behind the business coaching programs provided by Small Fish comes from the systems we use. Our coaches have great skills and experience, of course – all of us have strong commercial backgrounds, either in corporate Australia or in small businesses. But it’s very important that we follow the structured process of Audit, Plan, Action and that we use the systems and the tools to make sure your coaching experience is more than just ‘what your coach knows”.

We believe very strongly that it is not enough to present you (our customers) with a smart person and say “It’s all right, I’ll help you” – we need to go further and to provide a service that will help you make the right changes to your business, no matter who delivers it. That’s why we set such store by the Business Diagnostic Questionnaire and the Business Mastery program – both excellent tools for assessing a business and for learning common business strategies.

As a company, we are committed to using technology to help us provide excellent service without it costing the earth. We use modern devices such as telephones and the Internet (web conferencing means we can work on documents together even though separated by distance) to help us deliver coaching services wherever you are.

We’re reducing our carbon footprint by not driving and we’re saving time and energy by not travelling – which we can spend on being better coaches.

Our Business Coaches

It’s also clear, though, that business coaching is a very personal business – you want to work with someone you trust and it is important to be able to meet and get to know someone before you make this commitment. (Jon’s client in the UK is his brother-in-law and he was able to visit him during the time they worked together. Dan’s client in Perth is also a long-time contact of Dan.)

All of us will travel (within reason) to meet with you, if you are interested in working with us but we also find much of our business is close to where we live. Much of our business comes from referrals from our customers (because we do a good job) or from other people we’ve got to know along the way.
